On-site diagnostics
Many tests can be done at the doctor’s office during your appointment. These include imaging services like CT scans, lung function tests and allergy testing to help diagnose a condition.
Easy referrals
Our partnership with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), allows for a simple referral process for certain procedures. When needed, we refer patients to an outpatient rehabilitation center in Las Vegas.
Allergy treatments
Immunotherapy (serum) injections
Immunotherapy serum injections, also known as allergy shots, slowly expose your immune system to small amounts of allergens like pollen, dust mites or pet dander to reduce sensitivity over time. This long-term treatment helps prevent allergic reactions and can significantly lower symptoms such as sneezing, congestion and itchy eyes.
Over-the-counter and prescription medications
Over-the-counter and prescription medications are often used to treat lung and allergy conditions. These include antihistamines and steroids in the form of oral medications, nasal sprays, inhalers and emergency medications like epinephrine shots. Side effects tend to be minor, such as sleepiness and mouth and throat irritation.
Biologic agents
Biologic medications come from living organisms. They contain proteins and chemicals to treat specific conditions. They're typically injected and used to manage severe asthma and keep flare-ups from happening. Patients with eczema may find biologics to be a helpful way to manage their symptoms.

Pulmonary care focuses on the lungs. The lungs are organs that help us breathe. Our lungs play an important role in helping our bodies work. Optum pulmonologists specialize in lung care.
We also offer pulmonary rehabilitation to help people with chronic (long-term) lung disease breathe easier and improve quality of life.
The immune system helps the body fight illness. Allergies are caused by too much sensitivity of the immune system. This is called hypersensitivity.
You can have hypersensitivity to something in the space where you live that doesn’t cause problems for most people. You can be allergic to:
- Animals
- Dust
- Foods
- Metals
- Pollen
- Other substances
It helps to stay away from your allergy triggers. Optum doctors also offer many types of care to help with allergies, including:
