The hospice team will try to manage all your symptoms at home. But if your symptoms are uncontrolled, you may qualify for general inpatient care. You’ll be transported to a specialized hospice facility that will develop and provide care for your symptoms. Once they are controlled, you will be able to go home on the new care plan.
Depending on your insurer, you may qualify for inpatient respite stay to give your caregiver(s) a break. You receive care from a facility for up to 5 days, then go back home with your family.
Palliative care is not hospice care.
It’s in-home, wellness-focused support for people with life-limiting illness. It can be provided alongside treatments to cure or heal the disease and helps relieve pain, symptoms and stress. You can still see your providers and specialists.

Grief support groups for caregivers
After the loss of someone we love, it can be difficult to find our way through the deep sadness we feel. Support groups give us a safe space to share our feelings and connect with others who will listen. Consider joining us in person or online as we navigate the journey of grief together.
