Finalizing Optum and Change Healthcare Combination

In January 2021, as part of our efforts to help improve the performance of the health system, we announced our plans to combine Optum Insight and Change Healthcare. We are pleased to inform you that today, we officially closed the transaction and will now bring our capabilities, solutions and teams together over the coming months. This is a critical step in improving our clinical alignment with payers and providers at the point of care, increasing claims accuracy and simplifying payments.

Change Healthcare brings advanced clinical decision support capabilities and an extensive multi-payer technology platform connecting millions of people to payers and providers across the United States. With their capabilities and Optum Insight’s analytics, clinical expertise and administrative technologies — we will form a new Optum Insight over the coming months that is positioned to improve the vital clinical, administrative and payment processes on which health care providers and payers depend to serve people. The people of Optum Insight look forward to welcoming our new Change Healthcare colleagues.

Change Healthcare leadership and Optum Insight leaders are committed to a collaborative transition as the two companies come together — ensuring continued outstanding service levels to consumers, providers, payers and employees. We will begin working on a plan for integration and quickly move to execution. During the integration process, it is business as usual for our two companies and during this interim period, Neil will continue to lead Change Healthcare and Dan will continue to lead Optum Insight.
