I came in to present and discuss new neurological symptoms I have been experiencing. I showed her a video I took of one of the issues, she saw it and didn't say anything. She asked no follow up questions on it, ie how long I had been experiencing it, if there were any accompanying symptoms, or anything else. She then proceeded to take the remainder of the appointment asking questions about an issue I had been in for previously, questions that don't really make sense (asking 'which of these symptoms are you experiencing?' when they were not mutually exclusive), and moving her finger around and asking my eyes to follow it. The finger test is something she has already done in two previous appointments, and it is also redundant because I can reproduce the problem without issue, but I am unsure if there is a misunderstanding somewhere. I had stated some concern that these new symptoms were related to the issue I came in for previously, so I can see why maybe she had some focus on this, but she just said it was not possible and offered no explanation. I didn't expect it to take the whole time so I entertained questions from Dr Yu about the previous issue, and conveyed how my life is indeed impacted much by this condition and am greatly concerned about going until [omitted]to see the next specialist to receive any treatment without some intervention. While this next specialist said they could possibly take appointments sooner if given referral, Dr Yu did address that insofar as to explain why it wasn't worth trying. She did seem to understand my concern about waiting though, and we talked about waiting on the results of a blood test and follow up with a third doctor, but that was already going to happen and again is not related to the issue I came in for, per Dr. Yu's determination. When we ran out time to discuss the symptoms I came in to be seen about but were not thoroughly examined, she basically said just to not think about it, that it would eventually go away. To be clear, at least one is a reproducible physical symptom that I have on video. I had already waited weeks to see if it would resolve before reaching out, and I reached out because other resources say it could be serious. On it's face my concerns were dismissed without ever being addressed, and it feels a bit flippant and negligent.I was already a little weary to return to Dr Yu after my last experience, where they had me come all the way into the office and take time off of work for a follow up to tell me that my results were fine and I don't need to be concerned, and to do the follow the finger exercise for about 30 seconds. It was billed as a detailed' visit and it could have been a twenty second phone call. I returned because I thought having an existing relationship would be beneficial but I am not reassured by this experience.

The clinician had access to my records through my chart, but did not seem to have reviewed them before entering the room. She was unaware of what I had done previously to investigate this health issue. She had not reviewed any of my test results from previous visits. She also declined to look at the notes that I brought to describe my symptoms as my cognitive fog and language challenges have been making it difficult for me to be a good a reporter.

Had medical records but only looked at other neurological records, not others that were potentially related to the neurological symptoms.

Felt the clinician was dismissive. She kept commenting how a previous MRI was clear so I'm fine. Dismissed how my face was feeling and kept telling me I'm fine.

She tried to listen but never asked why I was there, and when I tried to tell her, she just got defensive and wouldn't even look or listen at what I was asking her to look at as a recommended treatment, she just refused. She also pushed a drug on me without talking about all the side effects, and seemed to push me out. I tried to advocate for myself over and over until she finally shut me down completely.

She did not ask about any symptoms other than my visually obvious tremor. She did not give me the chance to talk about any symptoms. The moment she saw a history of anxiety in my chart she lost all interest and started saying that everything was just anxiety, even after I told her that I had started with a psychiatrist who told me that he would not be able to help me because it wasn't psychological. She did not offer any treatment options or suggestions. She was extremely dismissive and short.
