I cannot say enough about how good nurse Dickson is. She engages me in my own care. She listens and has a lot of patience. I feel fortunate to be in her care.

Couldn't ask for any better care upside great sense of humor

She talked about her head cold and how she should have called out of work. She did not listen to me and just assumed I had the same symptoms as her despite me trying to explain what was wrong and unusual. I thought I was coming in to have a specialist look at my ears nose and throat, she only looked in my ears and said I was fine. I would not be asking for a specialist if I was fine. She was barely in the room with me for less than 10 minutes. Felt unprofessional and dismissive.

I needed an ear cleaning before a scheduled hearing test. Two days later I was surprised that there was a considerable amount of wax remaining in both ears when viewing a picture of my ear drum during the hearing evaluation. The tester commented that it was not a very good clean out. So, the ear cleaning prior was not as thorough nor as clean as expected.

I discussed my situation to her and what I was experiencing medically. I was given a couple of (Options) as my next steps. Wait and have another hearing test done or have an MRI.So why did we go from the frying pan into the fire? She suggested that I might have a cyst on my acustical nerve. An MRI would determine that. Inside I was upset with my options.So I had a second opinion done with another provider (Internal Medicine) outside of Optum because I have a PPO plan. That provider suggested that we approach my hearing issue and sinus problems with another approach. He said that ENT can do additional procedures should I need to see one. I don't understand why I wasn't referred to an ENT doctor for further medical attention? Just wait and watch or an MRI was her recommendation.

Computers were down so he didn't have access to my records nor as se able to download CD results of a MRI had done in another state. She listened to all my concerns.

I really appreciate everything this Provider has done to help. Move me in the right direction. I did receive a call from the pulmonary department today.

My wife looked into my ears with an otoscope when I got home from the ear cleaning treatment and found that the ears still had wax in them. I was hoping the vacuum system would have cleaned them better than the water treatment.

Dr. Dickson was amazing. Best experience I have had in a while. She was friendly, genuine, knowledgeable. Wish she could be my primary care!
