Optum Specialty Pharmacy’s frequently asked questions about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)

At Optum Specialty Pharmacy, our top priority is your health. During these unprecedented times, we continue to take your health seriously.

We are committed to ensuring you have your medication and supplies. We have a large supply of medications. We are working hard with our partners to make sure you get what you need.

At this time, we are experiencing high call volumes and longer than usual wait times. If you need to refill or track a prescription, we suggest you use our patient website.

Our Optum Connections digital tools allow you to request prescriptions, stay up to date, and even meet with a pharmacist for a virtual visit. Read more about these services and how you can use them in the questions below.

You can sign up for text or email messages that include prescription notifications, order-related information, educational materials and alerts. Call us at 1-855-427-4682 to get started.

Visit our website or use our mobile app and sign in to your patient account.

If you have not registered for a secure patient account, you will need your personal details and your Optum Specialty Pharmacy prescription number available. You can find this number on a recent medication label or on your invoice or statement.

Most specialty medications can be refilled online. Some medications for more complex treatments may still require you to speak with a patient care coordinator. Your specific therapy team is able to help and phone numbers are listed in your patient account.

You can download the Optum Specialty Pharmacy mobile app by searching for Optum Specialty Pharmacy in the App Store or Google Play.

Optum Connections virtual visits allow you and your care team to have a live telehealth video consult with an Optum Specialty Pharmacy pharmacist. You can even record the video to review at a later time or share with caregivers.

If you are experiencing side effects or need help with your medication, schedule a virtual visit by calling 1-855-427-4682 or request one on-demand in your patient account at our website

Virtual visits are currently available during limited hours, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. ET.
