30+ Days into Integration: An Update from Dan & Neil

This message is to all Change Healthcare and Optum Insight team members.

Hello Team,

During our Fireside Chat in October, we promised to keep you updated on the Optum Insight and Change Healthcare integration. Our integration team has been hard at work, and we are excited to be able to share a few updates and completed milestones with you.

Creating More Connections & Collaboration

In early November, our Technology workstream was able to successfully connect the Optum Insight and Change Healthcare Microsoft Teams platforms, making it easier — and more efficient — for our colleagues to work together.

Team members across both organizations are also now able to more easily find and connect with colleagues in Outlook with the ability to look up Optum, UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare and Change Healthcare employee emails and view calendars.

These integrations are just the beginning of better connecting everyone with enhanced technology features that will be rolled out over the next few months. Directions for accessing either Teams or Outlook can be found here.

Developing our Product Integration Plans

Over the past several weeks, our teams representing Product, Growth and Sales came together in Nashville to look closely at the products and services we each offer and determine where we might overlap and where we have the greatest opportunities. The final Product strategy has not been set, but we hope to tell you more during our next Fireside Chat.

Department of Justice Appeal

Last week, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed an appeal notice with the US District Court for the District of Columbia seeking review of the September 19 District Court opinion denying the DOJ’s attempt to block the merger with Change Healthcare. The appeal will go before the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. In the meantime, Optum Insight and Change Healthcare are continuing in earnest our integration efforts to achieve a simpler, more intelligent and adaptive health system for patients, payers and care providers.

December Fireside Chat

We’re excited to come together at Optum headquarters for our next Fireside Chat on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. CT. You should have received an invitation by now, and we hope you will prioritize attending virtually, if able, or watch the replay. We would love to hear what’s on your mind, whether it’s a question you’d like answered during the Fireside Chat or a comment, suggestion, or concern that has been on your mind. As we did last month, we’ll get to as many questions during the event as we can. For those we can’t, we will continue to provide updates in the weeks and months ahead. Finally, before we get to December, we want those who celebrate to find time to relax, recharge, and enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends. These last few weeks of the year are always busy at work and at home, and it’s important to take time off — you’ve earned it.
