My deceased parents were also patients at Optum. I hope my clinician has access to their medical records for issues that are influenced by genetics.

Dr. Lau took time to look into Dr. Taagen's notes and other medical records which allowed him to provide more informed replies and recommendations and was reassuring in conjunction with an initial visit.

Didn't even realize he could pull up related MyChart info from my last provider, just had to connect a few things for my past few years of treatment. Great time saver.

Dr. Lau looked at all my records and was able to assure me I my condition was okay but did highlight that I needed further testing sooner than scheduled

My appt. Was for a transfer of care and I had a chance to get to know Dr. Lau a little and to let him get to know me.

A first visit by video probably isn't ideal, and my speech issues were apparent, but a good visit.

I was switching to Dr Lau as my primary care provider as a result of my previous provider retiring, so this was my first visit with him. I was immediately convinced I had made the right choice. He was very professional but not stuffy or formal. He'd familiarized himself with my medical history to a remarkable degree. One of my labs was off and he was diligent about ensuring I retested promptly and the retest was fine. Everything about the visit inspired confidence.
