Referred to Fred Hutch so discussion of any proposed treatment would probably be covered by that doctor although Dr. Hempel did explain what is usually done as treatment.

This was my second appointment with Dr. Hempel. I originally saw him for a medical procedure after having endured two absolutely horrific/painful experiences with another urologist at the practice. Dr. Hempel's professional/friendly personality, concerned attitude and gentle approach immediately put me at ease and restored my confidence in receiving urological treatment. He's truly the gold standard for specialists in any medical department.

The doctor was professional, frank and detailed about my questions. All my urinary-related questions were answered and PSA levels at my age [omitted]were discussed. A manual exam of the prostate showed no abnormalities and a second PSA (taken seven weeks after the first) was factionally lower (4.65 vs. 4.81). I felt confident about the doctor's assessment and recommendation.
