I don't need to hear the same speech at every appointment. I'd prefer to have some time to tell the doctor why I'm there and ask my questions. There is too much talking and directing the appointment and not enough listening. It feels like a cookie-cutter approach to medicine. (As an example, I have indicated In several appointments that I will not take solifenacin succinate as it Is known to increase the risk of dementia and I have a parent with dementia. Dr. Ginger continues to prescribe this medication, which makes me feel like she's not listening to my concerns or taking them seriously.) It would also be helpful for her to take the time to review my chart more thoroughly before entering the room. In this last appointment, she started the appointment by noting that there was blood in my urine sample and asked if I was on my period. I am [omitted] and in menopause, which is reflected in my chart. This didn't give me confidence that she was up-to-date on my chart or fully engaged in the appointment. Finally, Dr. Ginger doesn't seem invested in helping to find the root cause of my overactive bladder or providing me with referrals to specialists who can help address this. She only offers treatments for the symptoms. I have had to search on my own for alternative treatments and providers, such as pelvic floor PT, to try to improve the symptoms for the long term.
