I've practiced as an emergency physician for 16 years now. After I met Dr. Liu, I knew there was no one else I wanted to be my surgeon. He was everything I wanted in a surgeon, and he holds and promotes the same values that guide my own care I provide to patients.

Okay, I am also a physician... In my career, I have found that the best physicians have a balanced combination of empathy/caring for their patients and the ongoing desire to nerd-out on and about their specialty. Maybe another way to say that is a balance of interest in the patient and also the science of medicine. Dr. Liu has that combination perfectly balanced. He asked about post-op antibiotics (my speciality) and seemed genuinely interested. He mentioned watching technique lectures/videos of other surgeons. He was able to share data off the top of his head (e.g., the rates of nerve injury with orthognathic surgeries). But despite all the medical knowledge, he was also a very effective communicator and made me feel like he was super interested in optimizing my personal outcomes. Great all around. I was very impressed.

Dr Liu is very attentive, down to earth, and pleasant to talk to. He seems very smart and knowledgeable and I can tell and admire his works. He didn't pressure me to do procedures that I don't need and in fact, suggested me to not do it. He answered all of my questions and concerns politely. I felt very comfortable through the entire appointment and I didn't feel rushed either. His team were very nice so far and I'm so excited and looking forward to the next steps!
