Unfortunately Kaiser hadn't sent the X-rays so they had to be repeated.

I went for hip pain and he immediately jumped to whether or not I was a candidate for hip replacement. He wiggled both my legs for less than 30 seconds. I had to ask about PT. He didn't suggest it. I imagine there could be other things wrong with my hip that don't require a hip replacement. He did suggest a steroid shot. Maybe I was sent to the wrong type of doctor, but that is optum's responsibility to send me to the right person.

It is unclear to me how much of my medical information had about my care. This was a new provider to me and they appeared competent and knowledgeable in their speciality. My only concern is the wait until October to get my next imaging completed. I am in constant pain.

  • About Sandeep R. Pandit, MD

I treat degenerative, inflammatory, and post-traumatic conditions of the adult hip and knee. As I am fellowship trained in adult reconstruction, I perform primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty in my primary surgical practice. I was previously a US Navy Flight Surgeon with experience in aerospace medicine. I have deployed to Afghanistan with a US Marine aviation squadron in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

    Philosophy of care

I make a concerted effort to treat all of my patients as individuals. I try to understand how their ailment affects their personal and professional lives. I then try to tailor a treatment plan (surgical or non-surgical) that best suits their desires and goals.
