Dr Amador began by announcing that my kidney function had decreased from ~80% to ~50%. He was looking at blood test results that were a year old. Also, I saw Dr Stocker after those results were available and she had no such draconian assessment. Also, the blood test results after my visit with Dr Amador showed no significant change. In addition, Dr Amador made this comment and then offered no follow up. He also wanted to refer me to a foot specialist but had no rationale other than he thought I might have trouble cutting my own toenails. When I pointed out that his own assessment was that the feeling in my feet was normal and that I cut my own toenails with no problem, he agreed to delete the referral. Finally, he supposedly prescribed a set of glucose measuring equipment. However, Optum's pharmacy has no record of it and I have not received such supplies. I was very displeased by this visit.

This was my new PCP. I was amazed at how he checked back In my chart for background medical dates and information.

The doctor recommended a cpap even though he didnt have my medical history. Maybe take a minute to learn about your patient.

I was a little bit frustrated after my visit. I needed to transfer my care after Dr. Cheng left and I'm getting surgery in February so I needed to establish a new primary care doc. Visited Dr. Amador for transfer of care and he ordered some labs for my surgery. Had a follow up visit in person and he tells me that I got the labs too far in advance of my surgery so I have to get them again closer to the date. Unfortunately there was no mention of this when the original labs were ordered so now I'm going to have to pay $500 out of pocket for a second set of labs in order to keep my surgery date. Being conscious of these things on the part of my care team would be nice. I know you don't know the ins and outs of everyone's insurance, but giving me all of the information (like how far out from surgery the anesthesiologist will accept labs) would allow me to make an informed decision and save me $500.
