My entire experience felt very mechanical. I was asked a bunch of questions about my symptoms and answered them. That was it. The whole thing felt extremely impersonal, like my clinician didn't really care about me as a person. I felt like I could have just chatted with an AI or filled out an online form and received the same level of care. In the end the clinician was not able to explain my condition to me and didn't really get into the details about what the medication she prescribed does to my brain. I also felt quite pressed for time even though my appointment was an hour and a half long. I feel like I never got to explain the entirety of my situation. Also, my clinician promised to send me a list of clinics that I could go to in case my mental health symptoms became overwhelming. I never received that list. Overall, I wouldn't say that my clinician was terrible but I don't look forward to another visit. I'd prefer to speak to someone who cares about me and how my symptoms are affecting my life.

  • About Kathryn (Katy) Biette, PMHNP-BC

I treat adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. I especially enjoy working with young adults and people with mood and anxiety disorders. I have always been fascinated by the brain and the stories of peoples' lives.I have a background in neuroscience, and after working in a laboratory research setting for a few years, I recognized how important it is for me to work with people.

    Philosophy of care

It's important to me to understand the factors that bring my patients to seek treatment, and what their goals are for their psychiatric care. From there, I believe in partnering with my patients to make treatment decisions that are right for them.
