This PA gave the Impression of uninformed apathy. Not only did he begin reading the ultrasound results from my chart but he gave me the most watered down summery of my results. I know this because I had access to my results days prior to my appointment and had already read them myself. He completely skipped over the actual results per leg and simply read the top summery of diagnosis. He then declared he was unfamiliar with acronym in my chart that read, not a candidate for EVLT. So he told us he had to google it, and did so. A PA in vascular cardiology not knowing that the acronym for EVLT stands for endovenous laser treatment is extremely discomforting. Especially since EVLT is the only varicose vein treatment option provided at this clinic. All confidence in what he said after that completely plummeted. When asked about what level of compression I should look for in a compression sock he refused to give a straight forward answer. Expressing that if he gave a number then patients would find it too tight and stop wearing it. Told me I shouldn't be concerned about the possible formation of blood clots. I don't know of I can trust that evaluation, I read through the ultrasound results far more thoroughly than he did and noted quite a bit more information than he. Most questions asked were dismissively answered. I could not wait for my referral and to get out of that appointment. I did not need to pay for such an appointment, It should have been an email or a phone call.
