Dr.Belinda was great

She said my arm looked perfect and to come back in three week. I said is that what the doctor pastor said? She said well it looks good to me and I said well my arm is broken and this is the appointment I am supposed to see if I need surgery and she said OK let's see what the doctor says but she was really pushing on It looking perfect . The doctor said I needed surgery so her medical expertise was not correct, and I got a plate and nine screws put in my arm today.

Belinda explained my issue to me in terms that even I could understand. Left no doubt as to what my options are.Also, very courteous and personable.

Ms Chavez shared X-ray results, helped me understand next steps, and removed sutures efficiently. She was knowledgeable and caring as we discussed progress and procedures.

Belinda made it clear to me that she was not pleased that I had been given an appointment that day which was a very busy day for the department. She said she would have sent me to walk-in or somewhere else that I don't remember. (I would have gone to walk-in but it was not suggested on my phone call and I did not think that was an option after having been assigned to a clinician.) Also, Belinda did not agree with the type of cast that was specified on my recent order (to Include partial thumb) and said twice that she wanted to change it back to the original (no coverage of thumb). I told her twice that I had requested the change because of unpleasantness resulting from the original prescription. She finally relented. In both cases, maybe she was overwhelmed by the busy-ness of the day and wasn't feeling very happy, but I thought the unpleasant tone of these two comments was inappropriate. I did not demand a same-day appointment. I was offered it and gladly accepted. I did demand a change to the type of cast because of previous discomfort and thought I had the right to emphasize that to her and insist that the new cast be made according to my stated preference, which had been APPROVED by the prescribing physician.

I felt like I was in a Simp line. She cut the four stitches out through the Band-Aid on with a A little antiseptic and didn't even ask me if I wanted to wash my hands. My right hand had been underneath a bandage for two weeks. It was sweaty and lots of dead skin, but she put the Band-Aid on over all that by the time I get out the car the Band-Aid had fallen off

She was so compassionate and did not make me feel bad about how I injured myself. She also was kind when I got lightheaded and removed my sutures SO quickly!
