My less than Very Good response, is only because the explanation only went so far, possibly because of diagnosis unknowns, and really, I don't want all of the information right away. It's too much to take in all at once.

I really appreciate Dr Alshaban. He is wonderful and I have far less stress now that I know he can help me. He's kind, caring, thoughtful and an overall great person. I've seen him twice and I didn't feel rushed at all. He's a gem. I'm so lucky to have him as a doctor.

I left with an order for about 12 blood tests. Since that time, the results are showing up in my chart and they are scary. I do not know how to interpret them. For complicated tests I do not think you should be supplying them in my chart before the doctor has reviewed them. This is a big problem for me. I have quit looking at them, but it's hard.

We had a very detailed discussion about test results, my situation and next steps. I asked all the questions on my mind.

He was nice but I didn't appreciate sitting in silence for 10+ minutes while he typed up the visit summary.

I felt very comfortable with Dr. A and his expertise in the field. He made me feel like what I had to say was important. He answered all my questions and was friendly and kind.

I am so grateful for my appointment with Dr. Alshaban. The stress of having my cancer return drastically reduced after my visit with him. He seemed to really hear what I was saying and it felt like I had an expert advocate on my side and to guide me through this-it's a rare skin cancer that can spread before and after the surgery, and I need scans and tests, but getting all the testing needed with various doctors is difficult because understandably, no one is familiar with it. Dr. Alshaban's manner was SO kind and good, I was honestly very touched by his demeanor. He was the FIRST doctor in a year who said he would read about it which really was so shocking and made me very happy. He also sent referrals for two tests, one being a pet scan that I was having a hard time getting at Swedish, but he was able to get one for me at Fred Hutch very quickly. He also suggested I get genetic counseling due to my family history of various cancers which is amazing. He sent a referral for that as well. I am so lucky to have him as my oncologist. I'm extremely grateful. He's wonderful!

He reviewed records before our visit because he was aware of what the outcome of the visit we had earlier that day.
