I gave this rating because during my visit on [omitted] at the West Nyack location, I felt dismissed and not taken seriously despite being clearly ill. I was lying down in the exam room because I was not feeling well, and the doctor appeared bothered by this. During the visit I was repeatedly directed to check MyChart rather than having my symptoms discussed with me. I was also asked if I wanted to be examined, which was surprising since I came to the appointment specifically because I was sick. After my COVID test returned positive, the doctor’s demeanor became noticeably more compassionate, which unfortunately gave the impression that my symptoms were not taken seriously until there was a confirmed result. Patients who are visibly ill should be treated with attentiveness, professionalism, and compassion from the beginning of the visit.
