He was very professional and thorough and gentle. I had concerns about the camera going up my nose and he did it so I had no discomfort at all.

First visit with Dr. Lau (ENT specialist at Crystal Run Healthcare). He entered already decided on my diagnosis—needing hearing aids—based solely on the audiologist report I’d brought, without any conversation, history-taking, or physical exam first. Everything felt rushed: He interrupted my questions, answered briefly while grabbing the doorknob to leave, and spent less than 30 seconds in the room. No discussion of possible causes, reversible issues, or treatment options—I drove nearly an hour each way and left with all my concerns unanswered, plus a $50 copay wasted. As a Nurse Manager in primary/specialty care, I expect (and provide) thorough assessments and shared decision-making. This fell far short of basic standards. Long-time Crystal Run patient.

-
Went thru the technical/medical motions, but did not appear to be interested in me or my problem. No advice or follow up information on how I should proceed.
-
MY first experience was with a doctor, presumably an ENT (Lau) who was totally detached and seemed unable to relate to my complaints, appeared that he did not believe me or care and examined me as if he had just looked at a book to find out what to do. He said my problem was not ENT. Go to a neurologist. This survey indicated the survey was about a psychiatrist -Dr. Ontario Lau! The doctor is no longer listed under ENT. I question his competence.
-
Dr lau assured me that everything was going to be ok. He made me feel safe in his hands. With a great sense of humor.
