I felt very dismissed by this provider. I asked her to help in exploring potential food allergies with a simple blood test, and she dismissed my concerns and would not write a script for the blood work, despite my having concerns about recent reactions I've had to food I've eaten. I was told that it's rare for an adult to develop a serious reaction to most foods if they haven't been allergic before, despite the fact that I already learned of an almond and hazelnut allergy that I never had previously, and did not develop until my [omitted]. I even told her I've experienced my mouth and tongue tingling and it is very unsettling, and I worry that a serious allergy will develop. Even if she does not think I have serious food allergies... why would you not help put a patient's mind at ease and allow them the testing they request? I was very unhappy with my visit and felt it was a waste of time and money. I've never felt more dismissed by a doctor.
