I have always received outstanding treatment from Dr. Calica.
-
1. He seemed anxious to move me along in the process. 2. Despite Putnam County at the time of my appointment being widely reported as having the highest flu rate in New York state, absent from the hospital he worked in and the waiting room that it seems may have been shared for a number of physicians and had about a dozen people waiting in it at the time, was any sign that those waiting might consider masking themselves, or an offer of a mask from the receptionist to visitors, or a mask dispenser for any patient or visitor to freely take one. 3. I pass this along because I found it typical of the rush to digitize the health care system: when I put Dr Carl Calica into my googlemaps application, the first location it provided was in the medical complex across Stoneleigh Avenue from the hospital which turned out to be a pediatrics practice and none of the three people behind the desk there had heard of Dr. Carl Calica, nor did they express the least curiosity for why a person would make such an inquiry, and when they were informed, none showed the least interest in helping solve the mystery. When I called the phone number I had for the doctor, and got a recording that placed me on hold and kept me on hold from the time it took me to walk from the pediatrics practice to my car and drive to the parking lot of the hospital at which point I hung up as it by now seemed nearly pointless to try to inform Dr Calica's hospital office I would be a few minutes late as it was now the time I had been scheduled for but by the time I would get through to anyone there on my phone, I would have been so near to arriving at the door to his recpetion room that it would be practically meaningless. That notwithstanding, unless Dr. Calica shares an office with a pediatrics practice at 672 Stoneleigh Avenue, I would suggest that either he arrange to delete that canard from google maps, or Optum's IT department contact google maps to delete that address for him, or if he has an office in somewhere in that complex to correct its location as it could prove a source of confusion, especially to new patients.
