I spoke with Kerry, Office manager on [omitted] to inquire about the practice. If it was factory style, with no communication, I had no interest. She was very informative, and painted a wonderful picture of the provider and practice. Too bad it was not at all accurate and was a complete waste of my time. The call center picking up when I tried to call to find out where to park, when there were no parking spots, should have been the first clue. Joelle, who was training somebody, barely acknowledged me standing there for a few minutes. The first thing I noticed was the interior is as ugly as the way patients are treated, it's dark just like the attitude of those working there, and so dirty and outdated, I wouldn't allow my dog to be seen there. Joelle was rude and aggressive re care everywhere. She mentioned my records out loud, so the entire waiting room could hear, a clear violation of HIPAA, about care everywhere - You were at MSK, Northwell, CHS. I asked her to please not verbalize my private information to the entre waiting room. She said, I can just write refused. I said I'm not refusing, I had questions when doing the check-in process with that, and asked if I could talk to Kerry as we spoke on [omitted]. She said no she is in a meeting. Her trainee said I can go get her. Joelle said No, not with what we have going on today. Joelle said, You are here to see Dr. O'Brien not Kerry, very rudely. She asked for a urine sample, but I had my menstrual cycle. I told her that and she said to her trainee, We'll just document refusal. I said I am not refusing, do you want one with menstrual blood? She ignored me. I asked the checkout woman when Joelle walked away, where you can park, and how to get in touch with the office because I was outside and had no idea. She said that they never answer the phone, and it's always a call center. They will send them an email, so there is always a delay. What? Kerry specifically told me what option to press when I called but that didn't work. The MA came out, the only professional I met that day, and asked if there was anything he could do for me, and he apologized for everything that happened out front. I told him I didn't think I would stay for the visit, but I wanted to chat with Dr. O'Brien before leaving - b/c if this is the way the practice is run, I should probably not switch PCP offices. O'Brien came in, and she said the way Kerry told you the practice is run is not the way it is - she said it's busy with a heavy patient load and likely communication will not be easy. She said I don't think it's what Kerry said, and probably not a good fit. Her nonverbal communication was uptight and standoffish. She seemed uncomfortable. She apologized for Joelle and said they were having an onsite review which is why everyone was so uptight. She said you won't be charged. I said I didn't have anything done. I left. Visit was removed from MyChart Optum. Now it's back. This is a picture of healthcare at it's worst
She is very clear and direct. She always has a friendly greeting.
I like Dr. Scarchilli but sometimes I have to wait a long time once I get to the office.
She was recommended to me from friends who are also patients. She goes over and explains things so you understand what’s going on and why it’s best to get further treatment. She’s so good that I have been referring people to her

Dr. Obrien is an outstanding doctor. She listens and cares for her patients deeply. She detected my mother's best cancer and likely saved her life. I would recommend her to anyone.
