I gave this rating because I felt dismissed and unheard throughout my appointment. Before my bloodwork was even completed, the doctor told me it would be normal based on how I look. He also suggested that my concerns were probably psychological and implied that I had simply been “Googling too much,” despite the fact that I have a diagnosed medical condition (POTS). Instead of listening to my symptoms and concerns, I felt my experiences were minimized. I left the appointment in tears because I did not feel respected, believed, or taken seriously. Regardless of the eventual test results, patients deserve to have their concerns addressed with empathy and without assumptions.
