Grace was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Leawood, Kansas. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for her undergraduate degree. As a nurse, Grace worked in intensive care, surgery, and cardiology. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Rockhurst University and is board-certified by the ANCC.
