She was running 35 minutes late. Then when coming into exam room she in the first minute told me she wanted me to rest and have the nurse come take my blood pressure. She never returned to the room. I wanted to go over my labs because of a family history with diabetes. My A1c continues to rise. I don’t think she is looking at the whole picture for the last 4 years and I really want listened to so I would like to go to my husband’s endocrinologist. She never returned to talk to me about my blood pressure. Only to find out from the pharmacist she changed my medication. They had concerns. So I called the office to ask about this and ask about A1c Nurse called me right back and said yes for the change. I asked side effects and then asked about A1c. She said until my numbers got worse they saw no need to do anything. Brushed me off as in the decision had already been made without talking with me. Yesterday I took my lab reports to my ob gyn. She said, I think you should follow your gut and get another opinion and find a dr that will talk and listen to your concerns. If you see the numbers and know some history, she believes it’s more than life style. There are preventative things an endocrinologist can help me with so I do not become a diabetic like my grandmother and father that in later stages in like became dependent on insulin. Grandma also lost her leg from it. My cousins dr is helping her and I do not understand why Dr Dawn is so against me to get preventive help. I really do not know how anyone could label this appt as a true drs visit. I am sure I will be charged for it.
