1) Sat in exam room for about 50 minutes after having done initial screening. 2) Seemed like my summary was done prior to even seeing me 3) I reviewed the lab results myself through the portal and seems like there are some things the doctor should have reached out to me about. To this day I haven't heard anything. 4) The apt went quick and I was handed the Summary. I then brought up some questions I had. The doctor did go over with me. My blood pressure was high and I was told to just come back in 6 months

Though I've never had any issues in the past this visit, he spent less than 2 minutes in the room and didn't really ask a single question other than what my current exercise routine was. Then after having Labs done he has taken over 2 and 1/2 Weeks and still not responded about results

He listened and answered my questions. He made me feel comfortable. I feel he is extremely knowledgable and he can explain everything very well.

Thought I was scheduled for a physical but apparently not. Asked for a referral to my opthalmologist who I have to see every 6 months. Why cant it be a permanent referral for AMD??? He said he'd get that done but when I went back 10 days later it was not on the record so the PA took care of it. Also, my husband won't fill this surveu out

I hate to say it, but in all the years I have been a patient at OPTUM, I have never once given a doctor a bad rating. This time, I have to. Dr. Kunstle is the worst medical provider I have ever seen. He has absolutely no personality, no bedside manner, is not friendly, and doesn't impress me much. I needed an urgent appt. and was lucky enough to be worked in the same day I called. Unfortunately, I saw Dr. Kunstle. He didn't even examine me. Just asked me where it hurt and told me to go get an X-ray at another facility. Turns out I had a fractured arm. I never heard from him again. No follow up, no phone call, nothing. He did call in some pain pills at my pharmacy but since it was a narcotic, the pharmacy needed him to call them and authorize it. I called OPTUM immediately and asked if he could please do this asap (that day), and then please call me too, to let me know he had called them. He never even bothered. The pharmacy said they never heard from him. I never heard from him either (as a courtesy to let me know). So I never was able to get the pain meds. I ended up scheduling my own MRI and consultation with another doctor (orthopedic surgeon) but couldn't get in for another week. So in the meantime, I had to wait over a week for any further treatment. Knowing I had a fractured arm, I think the least he could do was call me to follow up and see how I was doing. But I didn't hear anything more at all. This is unacceptable. I'm just glad Dr. Kunstle isn't my primary care physician or I would be going to another clinic. I've seen him twice now for 2 different issues over the past year and both appt's were disappointing. I would NOT recommend him to anyone else, ever. PLEASE -- for the sake of other patients -- and for the overall good of OPTUM as a whole -- please have an HR Manager or other Senior Medical Director talk to this man and explain to him how one bad doctor can ruin a whole practice. Patients and insurance companies pay a whole lot of money for quality service and they should expect courtesy and effective medical care. Sorry to rate Dr. Kunstle so low, but I wouldn't see him again if I was bleeding to death. Seriously.

I didn't feel listened to, even the written summary where he had access to the recording, many notes were off from what I actually said. The appointment ended super abruptly, and I only pieced that together when I saw him walk into his office and left me with the nurse at the counter to schedule a follow up. I didn't get to discuss all my concerns, he just simply stood up, closed his notebook and lead me out of the room. I'm now struggling to get a referral to an OBGYN to hopefully actually address more specialized concerns.

I like John Kunstle, and he works well with my needs, answers questions, makes good recommendations, etc. Just couldn’t give a 10 right now due to the extreme difficulty of getting prescriptions refilled. Probably most of this is not even his fault at all due to insurance changes, etc., but I’m just really frustrated with the Optum process for this right now - untimely response, etc.
