This was my second time meeting her, and the first time for a complete physical. I felt somewhat rushed and in comparing her to my former doctor, it didn’t feel personal, yet I had the same doctor for over ten years, so that relationship isn’t the same of course.

Poor exams, little knowledge of medications (told to do the research myself and she would get approval), short visits and little interaction, poor followup and not responsive to patient needs or concerns. Friendly but not at all professional. I could probably go on but these are good examples and I already feel awful about having to be honest.

Dr. Novak reviews my medication, asks important questions, and allows me to ask a variety of questions that I'm concerned about regarding my health.

She’s not the most proactive physician in reviewing medical issues. For example I requested a couple of blood tests on a proactive basis (fasting insulin and hsCRP) and she said they wouldn’t be beneficial and therefore didn’t order them. Last year I had to ask her for a apo(a) blood test and a calcium score scan which revealed CVD - had I not asked for them I wouldn’t have known. She stays strictly within the guidelines of treating disease/illness vs being proactive.
