She was courteous but did not provide a trial of prescribing prednisone to treat what I believe to be a relapse of polymyalgia rheumatica, but instead gave a diagnosis of sciatica without back pain. I had earlier suspected sciatica, and Dr. Penaflor had called in a Medrol dose pack that greatly helped for a week my fairly severe hamstrings pain, and may have resulted in a normal sed rate by the time I saw Nurse McCabe. When in 2018 my former PCP Howard Brown, MD, now retired, gave many weeks of prednisone 15mg daily then slowly tapered slowly to 7mg daily I had remission from pain until this year. Now I am taking maximal doses of Tylenol to be able to walk. I doubt I would have no back pain if sciatica was the cause of this pain. I shared this thinking with Nurse McCabe.

She is very thorough and friendly. Always.
