Shamila Senanayake, MD, is board certified in internal medicine with a sub-specialty in nephrology. Dr. Senanayake earned her medical degree from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka. She completed her residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. She also completed a fellowship in nephrology through the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Senana yake chose nephrology as a sub-specialty because she has always been fascinated by the functions of the kidney and bladder. As a child, she was highly interested in science.
