She’s not a good Doctor she don’t listen she gave me wrong medication and changed my amounts without out telling me.

The doctor came in and didn't ask any questions. This was her 1st time seeing me and I hadn't been to the doctor in years. She just look at my recent hospital visit and went from there. She was supposed to refer me to get a mammogram, and I am still waiting. I didn't feel very welcomed to be my 1st with her.

While Dr. Flores was timely and informative, as a patient, I did not feel fully heard by her. When I discussed my visitation concern with her about an extremely familiar pain I was experiencing, symptoms, and my medical / family history with it, she was quite quick to dismiss what I was describing. She responded with sharing personal details about how she knows exactly what the pain was like, since apparently, she also had her own medical history with the condition I mentioned. I listened to her insight respectfully and sympathized with her experience. Initially, I felt relief knowing the professional in front of me understood my pain, but I was not expecting Dr. Flores to continually be dismissive about my experience and descriptions throughout the visit. And with all due respect, I do not think I was too comfortable with her sharing her own medical history as it felt biased to her experience. As a medical practice, I believe it is not advisable for medical staff to share personal medical history with patients as it can give way to bias during an exam and risking patients feeling unseen or not focused on. I am unsure if Dr. Flores was not having the best day or if this is how she usually receives patients, but this is my honest feedback for her. I have been going to this Lakewood clinic location for around 15 years with zero problems with the medical staff. This was my first time being attended to by Dr. Flores, however due to this visit alone, I'm not too sure about wanting to be seen by her again.

She did not care for my sons need. She brushed him aside, did not evaluate him. See my previous comment as to why I would not recommend Optum. I would never ever recommend her to anyone.

Doctor Flores-Rios is an amazing, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, funny and professional doctor. She has cared for my whole family for many years and we think she is just wonderful. She takes time, listens, comes up with treatment strategies that let us know we are being heard and provide us options for our care.

came to see Dr. Johana E. Flores Rios, MD because I saw so many great reviews, and after having a terrible experience with a previous doctor, I thought, why not give her a chance? Well, I was wrong. Instead of feeling heard, Dr. Flores Rios made me feel like I was wasting her time. Her attitude and the way she spoke to me made me never want to seek help from another doctor again. Honestly, I would rather speak to an online doctor a thousand times over—at least they take the time to listen. Even after sharing my past negative experiences with doctors, her only reaction was to focus on how she felt offended. After that, she rushed through the rest of the appointment like I was nothing more than a dollar sign. By the end of the visit, I was in tears. The staff at Optum in Lakewood, CA, was amazing, though—they were the only bright part of the visit. A nurse even asked if I was okay, but I just said yes because I wanted to leave. To make things worse, when I noticed she struggled with certain English words, I switched to Spanish to make things more comfortable. Instead, she gave me a nasty look up and down and continued speaking in English. I cannot believe a doctor would make comments that lower a patient’s self‑esteem and then suggest I should take certain comments into consideration—maybe she should take her own advice. I went in asking for help and came out cry I would never recommend her to anyone.
