Offering a synchronized pharmacy care experience

For the VA, OptumRx has proudly served the agency’s Chief Business Office of Purchased Care (CBOPC), which processes pharmacy transactions for a variety of health benefit programs administered by the VA. This includes the following:

  • Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA)
  • Caregiver Program
  • Spina Bifida Health Care
  • Children of Women Vietnam Veterans Health Care Benefits

OptumRx serves 440,000+ members: dependents of permanently and totally disabled veterans, survivors of Veterans who died from service-connected conditions, or who at the time of death were rated permanently and totally disabled from a service-connected disability.

Since 2009, when OptumRx began managing the CBOPC contract, client satisfaction has improved significantly while driving down pharmacy costs. We’ve helped the VA and its beneficiaries save more than $500 million.

OptumRx received “very satisfied” ratings each year on its client satisfaction scores. We continue to improve program performance, and most important, provide members with the prescriptions and care they need to enjoy a better quality of life.
