ALEXANDER HOBERMAN: When looking for a new provider, I think it's important to find someone who connects with you on a personal level. Someone who you can share your interests with. But as well as understand your goals and where you want your health care to go. For me, I often connect with patients in the fact that I've been sidelined from sports in my normal daily activities in the past, and I understand and appreciate that struggle of getting back to that level you were at before.

ALEXANDER HOBERMAN: One thing I like to do with all of my patients is learn about what activities they're doing. Where are they running? Are they athletes? Are they participating in pick up flag football leagues? Or are they just trying to get through a busy work week where they're walking to work in the city or going on hikes on the weekend? It's important to understand the demands of each patient and how they're different. So that way I can direct treatment to achieve those goals.
