00:00.000 --> 00:05.000
My name is Pamela Bukhani. I am a pediatric nurse practitioner at Optum.

00:05.000 --> 00:33.000
I became a nurse practitioner because I always had an innate responsibility and feeling that I wanted to take care of people. My aunt says that even when I was very young, I cared for the littlest of animals, so she knew I’d end up in healthcare someday.

00:33.000 --> 01:00.000
As a child, I loved helping wherever I could. I always felt it was important to lend a hand. Even now, with my colleagues, I offer support whenever possible to make their day easier. Coordination and streamlining of patient management are essential—being able to communicate easily between specialties and primary care is key to a positive patient care experience.

01:00.000 --> 01:27.000
I have two children of my own. I’m an avid exerciser—I love getting outside, getting a little dirty, hiking, and staying active with my kids. We also have a great group of friends with children the same age, and we enjoy spending time together, sharing life experiences. Many of them are nurses as well, so we connect on many levels.

01:27.000 --> 01:36.000
Family is extremely important to us, and we spend a lot of time with the people who matter most.
