Dr. Shah oversees all strategy, growth and transformation work for payer, provider and life sciences for Optum Advisory Services. His multifaceted background and approach drive growth and performance in a rapidly changing environment.
Prior to joining Optum, Dr. Shah was the senior vice president and chief data officer at Prisma Health, an integrated academic health system. Other roles include senior managing director and chief strategy officer at FTI Consulting, and 15 years at BlueCross BlueShield as a corporate officer.
Dr. Shah has a bachelor's degree from Drexel University. He holds a master's degree in organizational development and an MBA in quantitative analysis from Clemson University. He earned his PhD in public health and economics from the University of South Carolina. He has completed executive programs at the Wharton School of business as well as Cornell University.
