Andrea Marks currently serves as senior vice president and chief analytics officer for OptumRx, accountable for analytics and reporting. In this capacity, she leads the comprehensive analytic development for the company’s full suite of innovative pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services, development and application of risk modeling and machine learning, outcome measurement, client insight analytics, integrated client reporting, trend, pipeline, and formulary analytics. Prior to her current position she served as the CAO of Catamaran (PBM) which combined with OptumRx in 2015.
Previously, Marks served as chief informatics officer at Blue Health Intelligence, and was responsible for the initial launch of the for-profit data and analytics company from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. She held progressive roles of analytic responsibility at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, CVS/Caremark, and the University of Chicago.
Marks earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago and a Master of Science degree from DePaul University. She has advanced education in Healthcare Outcomes Methodology from Harvard University, product marketing with Pragmatic Marketing, and Data Science Leadership with the Carlson School of Management. Andrea is the board co-chair for the American Cancer Society of Illinois, a board member of the Center for Research in Information Management at the University of Illinois at Chicago, a governing board member for Chicago’s Chief Data Officers community, and serves as an education advisory board member for Loyola University’s School of Information and Computer Sciences.
