Two contract renewals build on years of service to first responders and the military
MCLEAN, Va. (July 18, 2018) – OptumServe, the federal government health services business of Optum, was recently selected to continue to provide health services to participants in two federal health programs, building on years of successful service to first responders and the U.S. Armed Forces.
- OptumServe’s Logistics Health Inc. was issued a contract by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health to provide health evaluations, monitoring exams, diagnostic services and treatment for survivors of the 9/11 attacks residing within the New York metropolitan area as part of the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program. The two-year contract began June 1, 2018. This award, coupled with LHI’s current WTC Nationwide Provider Network contract, enables LHI to serve WTC Health Program members nationwide.
- LHI will continue to provide specialty consultations on behalf of the Department of Defense for applicants entering the U.S. Armed Forces through the Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) Medical Specialty Consultations Program. Medical specialty services include optometry, allergy, audiology and cardiology consultations, among others. The company also will continue to coordinate the delivery of medical testing and laboratory services for these applicants. The five-year follow-on contract begins Sept. 1, 2018.
- Combined, these two contracts have an approximate value of $58.7 million.
“It is an honor to be entrusted with the care of these two very important groups of heroes, those who responded and survived the 9/11 attacks, and those entering the military to defend our nation,” said Lt. Gen. (ret) Patty Horoho, CEO of OptumServe. “Our selection to continue partnering on these two important programs demonstrates OptumServe’s strong capabilities and commitment to high-quality care and customer service.”
