Chief Executive Officer, OptumInsight
Robert Musslewhite serves as CEO of OptumInsight, a $10B Optum business providing solutions and services to enhance decision-making and connect health care stakeholders by reducing fragmentation, aligning incentives, and improving value across the health care system. In this role, Musslewhite oversees the organization’s world-class data, advanced analytics, technology and workflow solutions, managed services and operations, advisory services, research and expertise, pulling them together into interoperable, industry-wide platforms focused on creating a more effective and efficient health care system with improved outcomes.
Prior to leading OptumInsight, Musslewhite was CEO of Optum360, CEO of Optum Analytics, and CEO of Advisory Board Research. Musslewhite joined Optum in November 2017, following the acquisition of The Advisory Board Company where Musslewhite served as CEO since 2008 and chairman since 2013.
Prior to joining The Advisory Board Company, Musslewhite was an associate principal with McKinsey & Company in the Washington, D.C., Amsterdam, and Dallas offices. He serves on the board of directors of Ascend Learning and is chair of the board of governors of St. Albans School. Musslewhite holds a JD from Harvard Law School and an AB in economics from Princeton University.
